Assistants

David Wightman requires assistants. The suitable candidates should have previous experience as an artists' assistant or be able to demonstrate a commitment to producing finished artwork to a deadline. Assistants need to be quick learners and able to work in a precise and tidy manner. Good paint mixing skills and a knowledge of painting processes are essential. Ideally, applicants should have accurate draughtsmanship skills, a familiarity with tracing, and previous experience of using a scalpel to trim intricate pieces of paper. A demonstrable skill in painting accurate, brushmark-free, flat areas of acrylic colour and a basic knowledge of preparing canvases and art handling is desired. Also, an interest in Photoshop and a familiarity with basic computing skills are preferred.
